Call it luck, or call it a miracle, but a 12-year old American girl has survived a plane crash that killed the other three passengers.

A small Cessna plane carrying wealthy California businessman Michael Klein, his 13-year old daughter Talia, and the pilot Edwin Lasso, crashed in the mountainous dense forest just outside of Panama City on Sunday. Authorities were surprised when they found a lone survivor.

The plane was found smashed to pieces, while 12-year old Francesca Lewis suffered only broken bones and hypothermia.

Fog and heavy rains caused the rescuers to delay their search.
